Guaranteed Viable Curriculum (GVC's)
GVC 1- I can participate regularly in PE. Students will master the basic fundamental skills in the sports taught. .
Learning Targets for GVC 1- I can pass, set, and serve in volleyball.
I can throw, and catch and kick in football.
I can kick, throw, pass, and trap in soccer.
I can pass, shoot, dribble, and defend in basketball.
GVC 2- I can demonstrate a competency in motor skills and movement patterns for the activities taught in their PE classes. I will also be able to explain the advantages and correlation between those movements and a healthy lifestyle.
Learning Targets for GVC 2-I can demonstrate motor skills in stretching, walking, jumping, rhythmic activities, skipping, galloping, jogging and running.
GVC 3- I can explain the importance of demonstrating responsible, personal and social behavior, this includes showing respect to teachers, classmates, equipment and school facilities.
Learning Targets-I can comply with team and school rules and be a positive teammate. I can recognize when to assist classmates to enhance their PE experience.
GVc 4- I can explain the value of living a healthy lifestyle and the benefits of physical fitness.
Learning Targets- I can learn the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle while be able to identify the causes of type 2 diabetes and how to avoid it. I can explain the opportunities for joy in overcoming the fear of new activities. I can explain some cultural diversity in each activity I learn.
